Abisal is a new fine dining restaurant located in Miami, Florida. Headed by 3 Michelin star chef Ángel León, the establishment required a brand identity and interior design. In collaboration with interior designer Autumn Rodeheaver, we provided Abisal with a unique and striking look based on León’s love for the sea, and the vast mystery and emptiness of the Midnight Zone of the ocean.

Bringing this restaurant to life was a great experience, especially with the great effort and work by Autumn Rodeheaver. The concept of the identity in particular I am very fond of. With the main influence being the deep sea, an identity based around the bizarre life of the deep ocean would've made for an interesting look. However, by honing in on what makes the deep ocean so alien–the vast darkness and mystery–to create a minimal yet refined brand was a process that I thoroughly enjoyed.
